Melissa offers a variety of educational services for music programs. She holds a B.A. in Music Education and M.M. in Music Performance. While her main focus of expertise is brass pedagogy- more specifically low brass (trombone, euphonium, tuba), Melissa has a variety of resources and is qualified to teach all music students.

Melissa provides music lessons for students who are seeking help with audition preparation, solo & ensemble music, upcoming recitals, concert material, or developing and improving overall technique and musicianship.
Melissa will provide exercises, preferred etude/method books, helpful recordings, and musical tips that will enhance the individual's musical experience.

Clinician
For Band Directors who are seeking help with ensemble music in preparation for concerts, festivals, or competitions.

Melissa will come to your band room and help unify sound within the ensemble. She will address breathing (air movement), tone quality, balance, blend, and timing issues. She will use rehearsal techniques that will clean technical passages, engage your student's listening skills, and improve musicality-resulting in an enjoyable and educational experience.
Melissa is also available to teach masterclasses upon request.

Melissa uses a teaching approach which is designed to incorporate brass technique and musicality while on the move. She uses exercises and rehearsal techniques that will improve breathing, air flow, articulation, lip flexibilities, and dexterity.
